Questions
Why is my phone photo sideways on some websites?
Phones often save photos the same way up and add a small orientation tag. Some sites ignore that tag. Rotating here and downloading creates a new file whose pixels are the right way up, so it looks correct everywhere.
What does “Crop away the empty corners” do?
Turning a photo by a small angle leaves empty triangles at the corners. This option trims the photo to the largest straight rectangle that fits inside, so no corners show.
Is my photo uploaded anywhere?
No. The image is opened and processed on a canvas inside your browser. Nothing is sent to any server, so it works even offline once the page has loaded.
