Questions
Which format should I use?
JPG is best for photos and is accepted everywhere. PNG keeps sharp edges and transparency — good for logos, screenshots and signatures. WebP gives smaller files than both and is supported by all modern browsers, but some older apps and government portals still accept only JPG.
Why did my transparent background turn white?
JPG has no transparency, so see-through pixels must be filled with a colour. White is the default; choose any other colour, or convert to PNG or WebP to keep the transparency.
Is my photo uploaded anywhere?
No. The image is opened and processed on a canvas inside your browser. Nothing is sent to any server, so it works even offline once the page has loaded.
