Questions

How is the average price calculated?

Average price = total amount invested ÷ total shares. For example, 100 shares at ₹250 and 50 at ₹200 cost ₹35,000 for 150 shares — an average of ₹233.33.

Does averaging down reduce risk?

It lowers your average cost, but it also puts more money into the same stock. Only average down if your reason for owning the stock is still valid.

Are brokerage and taxes included?

No. Add brokerage, STT and other charges to the buy price if you want an exact cost.
