Questions
What is XIRR?
XIRR is the yearly return that accounts for each SIP instalment being invested on a different date. It is the right way to measure SIP returns; simple absolute return ignores how long each instalment was invested.
Why is my XIRR different from the fund's CAGR?
The fund's CAGR is for a single lump sum from one date. Your SIP instalments went in at different prices and dates, so your personal return is different.
What does this assume?
That the same SIP amount was invested on the same date every month from the first SIP to the valuation date, with no missed instalments or redemptions.
