Questions
Why does my 1 TB hard disk show only 931 GB?
Drive makers use decimal units (1 TB = 10¹² bytes) while Windows counts in binary units (1 GiB = 2³⁰ bytes) but labels them ‘GB’. 10¹² ÷ 2³⁰ ≈ 931.32, so nothing is missing.
What is the difference between MB and MiB?
1 MB (megabyte) = 1,000,000 bytes; 1 MiB (mebibyte) = 1,048,576 bytes (1,024 × 1,024). The ‘i’ units are the binary ones.
Is internet speed in MB or Mb?
Broadband plans in India are sold in megabits per second (Mbps). Divide by 8 for megabytes: a 100 Mbps plan downloads at most about 12.5 MB per second.
